God’s Complete Salvation

The two aspects of God’s complete salvation

“For if we, being enemies, were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more we will be saved in His life, having being reconciled” — Romans 5:10

The complete salvation of God has two aspects — the judicial and the organic. The following parallel table contrasts these two.

THE JUDICIAL ASPECT: ORGANIC ASPECT:
  • Solves man’s problem
  • According to the righteousness of God (Rom. 1:17a; 3:21-26)
  • The procedure of God’s salvation
  • To meet the righteous requirement of God’s law
  • Accomplished through the death of Christ (Rom. 5:10a)
  • Accomplished by Christ in His earthly ministry (John 19:30)
  • Fulfills God’s purpose
  • Through the life of God (Rom. 1:17b; 5:10b)
  • The purpose of God’s salvation
  • For the believers to be transformed and to grow and mature in life
  • Carried out by the life of Christ (Rom. 5:10b)
  • Being carried out by Christ in His heavenly ministry (Heb. 7:25; 8:2)
