God’s Complete Salvation

The two aspects of God’s complete salvation

The eight items of God’s organic salvation

Regeneration

Key verse: John 3:6
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”

Regeneration is the center of God’s complete salvation and the initiation of God’s salvation in its organic aspect. Regeneration is God Himself as the Spirit coming into our spirit to make us alive (John 3:6). Thus, through regeneration the believers have the spiritual life of God (John 3:15) in addition to their natural human life. The spiritual life of God, which is divine and eternal, is the basis and means of the believers’ spiritual life and living. To experience regeneration, we first need to repent and believe in the Lord so that our sins may be forgiven and that we may be reconciled to God. Then, through a simple prayer, this God who loves us and who is now the life-giving Spirit comes into us to regenerate our human spirit. By this we receive the Spirit of sonship in our spirit (Gal. 4:6).

If we represent the three parts of man (spirit, soul, and body) with three concentric circles, we can depict the condition of man before and after regeneration:

Before Regeneration:

Before—“Dead in our offenses and sins” Eph. 2:1

“Dead in our offenses and sins”
Eph. 2:1

After Regeneration:

After—“He who has the Son has the life” 1 John 5:12

“He who has the Son has the life”
1 John 5:12
